EINFELDT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
High Cincinnatians Tall Club Scholarship
Information
Each
year, Tall Clubs International (TCI) awards as least one $1,000 scholarship to
a deserving tall high school student. The scholarship is named after TCI’s
founder, Kae Sumner Einfeldt. Funding for the scholarship(s) is provided by the
TCI Foundation, a 501C (3) corporation.
The
High Cincinnatians Tall Club (Hi-C’s) is permitted to nominate one deserving
student for this award. The nominations are forwarded o the TCI Alternate
Executive Board; this body picks the winner of the Kae Sumner Einfeldt
scholarship. Criteria include:

Candidates are to be
a graduating high school senior, or any applicant under the age of 21
attending their first year at a two or four year institution of higher
learning

Men must 6’2” or
taller and women must be 5’10” or taller

Candidates will be
considered based on academic, sports and extra-curricular activities

Volunteer work
-
Personal achievement
Scholarship
applications are updated yearly, in January. Please be sure to use the current
form. If you use forms from a previous year, your application may be rejected.
All
forms must be postmarked not later than April
28, 2008, and mailed to:

The
Hi-C’s review applications in late April/early May and selects their candidate before
mid May. The finalist’s application, in addition to a letter of recommendation
from the Hi-C’s Scholarship Committee, will be forwarded to the TCI Scholarship
Committee by May 15. TCI reviews the candidates from all of its 62 member clubs
and makes a final decision during its annual convention in July.
In
addition to being to being selected as the Hi-C’s candidate for the Kae Sumner
Einfeldt Scholarship, you may also be awarded a smaller scholarship from the
Hi-C’s. The same forms are used for both the Hi-C’s and TCI awards.

Instructions
for Applicant:

Complete the
application forms (5 pages).

Include a transcript
of your records from your High School.

Write an essay on “What
being tall means to be”, preferably typed, no longer than one 8 ½ x 11
page.

Submit the
Recommendation Forms to individuals of your choice. One must be received
from a member of your high school staff (teacher, coach, counselor, etc),
and one from another adult, not related to you, from outside of the
school.

Again all items must
be postmarked no later than April
28, 2008. Applications postmarked after that date will not be accepted.

Applicants are
responsible for ensuring that all forms are returned. Please make every
effort to include all 5 pages of the application in one envelope along
with recommendation letters and transcript.

If you are selected
as the Hi-C’s finalist, you will be required to provide a wallet-sized,
head shot, photo of yourself (you may include it with your application).
